This event is the required
field portion of Texas Hunter Education to complete a home study course
typically taken on line. This field
portion includes ethics, safety, hunter’s skills trail, live fire, and multiple-choice
exam elements. Successful completion of
this course will fulfill the legal requirement for those desiring to hunt in
Texas who were born on or after September 2, 1971, and for those hunting in
states outside Texas. Evidence of the
home study course in the form of a printed, completed online “practice tests” MUST
be turned into the instructor at the end of the field portion, or you may email
them to the instructor before class at the email address above; otherwise NO
CERTIFICATION WILL BE ISSUED. There
are no exceptions! (Email is
strongly preferred—save a tree or two!)
DO NOT PAY ANY
MONEY ONLINE UNLESS YOU JUST WANT TO PAY EXTRA!!! The website for the home
study portion is: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/learning/hunter_education/online.phtml
. I suggest you take one of the
top two, FREE, listed courses. Follow exactly
the instructions on either course.
Upon successfully completing
the course and final exam with a passing score of 80, a temporary certification will be issued. Texas Parks & Wildlife will mail
permanent certification to you within a few weeks. NOTE : You must be nine
years old to receive certification for the course.
